Zelensky dismissed head of Brovary RSA after road accident

Dismissal of Volodymyr Maibozhenko from Head of Brovary District State Administration

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed an order to dismiss Volodymyr Maibozhenko from his position as head of the Brovary District State Administration in Kyiv region. The corresponding document was published on the official website of the President.

«Dismiss Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Maibozhenko from the position of head of the Brovary District State Administration of Kyiv region in accordance with paragraph 1 of the first part of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Local State Administrations’,» the document reads.

The reasons for the dismissal are not specified. As reported by UNIAN, on the evening of April 26, a road accident occurred in Brovary, Kyiv region: a passenger car hit a group of pedestrians. According to the police, three adults and a child were injured as a result of the accident. The driver was detained, who turned out to be the head of the Brovary District State Administration, Volodymyr Maibozhenko. A check for alcohol conducted at the scene of the accident showed 2.31 per mille in his blood.

Today, the Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv city remanded the official in custody for two months without the possibility of bail. Prior to this, the Kyiv Regional State Administration promised to dismiss Maibozhenko from his position.
