American military conducts Resolute Hunter 24-2 exercise
American military conducted the Resolute Hunter 24-2 exercise with the participation of the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force (MTDF), which possesses the hypersonic missile system Dark Eagle, also known as LHRW. This marked the first training for the use of hypersonic weapons in modern combat conditions. However, the complex has not yet had successful test launches.
Three-week training involving three participating countries
The Resolute Hunter 24-2 exercise was held as part of a three-week training involving three participating countries and four joint services. Unfortunately, it has not been disclosed whether these exercises included actual launches of the Dark Eagle. The American side only reported practicing the «detect-target engagement» chain in real-time.
Last test launch with LHRW took place in November
According to the conclusions from the exercise, the ability to adapt to complex conditions and various scenarios was demonstrated. The last test launch with the LHRW took place in November of last year, but it was unsuccessful. Americans believe that the issue with the missile, which costs $41 million per unit, lies in assembling its structure. However, the launch system itself functions properly.
