US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin accused China of intimidating the Philippines during the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore. He expressed support for the security of the region and condemned China’s aggressive actions, including the use of water cannons to block Manila’s missions on the disputed Second Thomas Shoal.

Strengthening Alliances in the Indo-Pacific
He also highlighted initiatives aimed at strengthening alliances and security in the Indo-Pacific region, including cooperation with Japan, Australia, the Philippines, and South Korea.
