UOC-MP: One of its leaders suspected of cooperation with occupiers

Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate Representative Suspected of Promoting Religious Hatred

On Friday, April 12, a representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate was handed a suspicion notice. This individual was calling for prayers for the occupiers in the war against Ukraine. The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed this activity.

Allegations Against Archpriest Mykola Danylevych

According to the investigation, Archpriest Mykola Danylevych, deputy head of the synodal department of external church relations of the UOC MP, defended the Russian war against Ukraine and promoted religious hatred. He publicly urged cooperation with the Russian occupiers to pray together for their health and well-being. This became known through his Telegram channel, where he actively spread pro-Kremlin narratives.

Network Coordination

Operational data indicate that the priest coordinated a network of UOC MP dioceses abroad, which were used to spread propaganda narratives of the Russian Federation.
