Ukraine Receives 2 Billion Canadian Dollars from Canada
Ukraine has recently been granted 2 billion Canadian dollars, which equates to around 1.5 billion US dollars, from Canada. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal made the exciting announcement, stating that these funds will be allocated towards supporting various social programs that aim to assist the people of Ukraine.
Continued Support Amid Crisis
With this recent contribution, the total financial aid received by Ukraine from Canada since the beginning of Russia’s invasion has now reached nearly 7 billion Canadian dollars. In addition to this, the European Commission has also provided support by transferring the first installment of 4.5 billion euros as part of the macro-financial assistance under the Ukraine Facility program, which totals 50 billion euros.
