In June of this year, Ukraine will host the first peace summit at the level of heads of state aimed at ending the war with Russian occupiers. The event will take place in Switzerland.
Back in January, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the peace summit at the leaders’ level in Switzerland, mentioning the beginning of the preparations for the event.
According to Zelensky, such a meeting will determine that the war of Russia against Ukraine should end only under a fair scenario, taking into account the UN Charter and international law.
This announcement came after a meeting in Switzerland regarding the peace formula at the level of heads of state advisors. In total, there have been four such meetings.
At the beginning of April, the Swiss Federal Council revealed more detailed information about the location and date of the summit. According to the authorities, the meeting at the level of heads of state will take place on June 15-16 at the Swiss resort of Buergenstock, located near Lake Lucerne.
