Convicts in Ukraine Joining the Military
Currently, 3944 petitions from convicts for early conditional release in order to serve in the military have been submitted to the courts of Ukraine. With the participation of prosecutors, the courts have already considered and granted 3775 of these petitions.
This information was reported by «Law and Business» with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
At the moment, 3561 convicts have already joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, indicating a significant increase in the past month.
The Prosecutor General’s Office also emphasizes that the rights of convicts for early conditional release to serve in the military are implemented in accordance with the new Article 81-1 of the Criminal Code.
Currently, the preparation of relevant documents for convicts is actively underway: undergoing military medical examinations, selection by representatives of military units, being enlisted in the military, and submitting petitions to the court.
