Oil refinery engineer in Poltava convicted for anti-Ukrainian propaganda on social media

The Kiev District Court of Poltava on June 20, 2024, rendered a verdict in the case of an oil plant operator who spread anti-Ukrainian propaganda through social media.

Case Details

According to the case materials, after the start of the full-scale conflict, the man actively posted on the social media platform «Odnoklassniki» where he mocked the memorialization of fallen soldiers, supported the occupation of Ukrainian territories, and promoted the fight against Ukrainian fascism.

Court Decision

A court-linguistic expertise confirmed that the publications of the accused contained denial of armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, refusal to recognize the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories, and glorification of Russian military personnel.

The court sentenced the accused to two years of probation and ordered him to pay 27,000 hryvnias for court expenses for conducting the expertise.
