Ukraine to Receive New Military Assistance from the Netherlands
According to the report, on Friday, March 1, the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands announced that Amsterdam will provide Ukraine with a new package of military assistance, which will include, among other things, landing ships. In addition, the Netherlands will allocate funds for the purchase of ammunition.
«The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with fast and highly maneuverable rubber and patrol boats, as well as landing ships. The Netherlands has also allocated 250 million euros for the Czech initiative to order a large quantity of artillery shells for Ukraine in the near future,» the report said.
The assistance to Kyiv from Amsterdam includes the provision of the following equipment:
- 14 rigid-hulled inflatable boats (RHIB);
- 8 militarized river patrol boats;
- CB90 landing craft.
The department also noted that some of these watercraft will be supplied from the defense department’s own reserves, while others will come from industrial enterprises.
The Netherlands will also provide ammunition worth over 100 million euros.
It is worth mentioning that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an evening video address to the nation on Friday, March 1, summarized the day’s events, including the announcement of a new package of assistance from the Netherlands.
