The State Property Fund of Ukraine Auctions Confiscated Apartments
The State Property Fund of Ukraine has announced the sale of two confiscated apartments in Odessa. One of them previously belonged to Russian billionaire Mikhail Shelkov, and the other to former mine director from Kherson, Volodymyr Saldo.
Online Auctions Scheduled for April 17
Both properties are located in a prestigious area of the city with a sea view. Online auctions for the sale of these apartments are scheduled for April 17, according to Ukrainska Pravda.
Details of Shelkov’s Apartment
Shelkov’s four-bedroom apartment, measuring 175 square meters, is located on the third floor of an eight-story building and offers a panoramic view of the Odessa Bay. The interior suggests that the owners left hastily — there is a safe for money and documents left in the premises, as well as a special place for storing weapons with armored doors.
The starting price for this lot is 7.52 million hryvnias, according to the head of the liquidation commission of the regional branch of the State Property Fund in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions, Viktoria Lysiuk.
Additional Confiscated Assets
In addition to the Odessa apartment, Mikhail Shelkov also lost a large real estate property in Nikopol, a metal rolling products warehouse, five cars including a Lexus and four Mitsubishi Pajero Sports, as well as money in bank accounts and a 100% share in the charter capital of the limited liability company «VSMPO Titan Ukraine.» Shelkov’s fortune is estimated at approximately $1.5 billion according to Russian Forbes data.
