First Underground School in Kharkiv to Open on May 11
On Saturday, May 11, the first underground school in Kharkiv will start operating, designed for 450 students, which will allow for the education of 900 children in two shifts. This was announced by the mayor of the city, Igor Tereshov, during a telethon, according to UNN.

«It is a very effective process, and you understand that our children have the opportunity to study. We must provide them with this opportunity. But the distance to the border is very small, and rockets arrive very quickly. We need modern air defense systems. We are forced to build such schools. By the way, I want to say that tomorrow the first underground school for 450 students will already be opened. In two shifts, we will have the opportunity to educate 900 children,» Tereshov noted.
