Inside information: sabotage of the hydroelectric power station

Explosives placed inside Ukrainian hydropower station, says Ukrhydroenergo head

In Ukraine, there were no doubts that the hydropower station was blown up from the inside, said the head of Ukrhydroenergo, Igor Sirot. In September 2022, employees of the Kakhovska HPP observed how Russian occupiers were bringing explosive devices onto its territory.

According to Sirot, there was limited movement at the station, and Ukrainian workers were working under constant Russian control. Observers saw the delivery and storage of ammunition and military equipment in the HPP buildings.

In response to questions, the head of Ukrhydroenergo confirmed: «Throughout the time when our employees were at the station, Russian forces were bringing explosives and dropping them into the lower sections of the station building.»
