Free Maize Seeds for Ukrainian Farmers
Ukrainian farmers from the front-line and affected areas will have the opportunity to receive free maize seeds. Each participant in the program will be able to receive up to 25 planting units per household, which will allow them to sow 25 hectares.
This was reported by the Ministry of Reintegration.
«The acceptance of applications will last until April 21. Assistance will be provided to agricultural producers who cultivate between 5 and 500 hectares, registered as legal entities or individual entrepreneurs, including family farms,» the statement said.
Assistance will be provided to farmers from the following regions:
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Donetsk
- Zaporizhzhia
- Kyiv (Buchansky, Vyshgorodsky, Fastivsky, and Brovarsky districts)
- Luhansk
- Mykolaiv (Mykolaivsky and Bashtansky districts)
- Sumy (Shostka, Konotop, Sumy, Okhtyrka districts)
- Kharkiv
- Kherson
- Chernihiv (Chernihiv, Koryukivsky, Novgorod-Siversky districts)
To receive seeds, farmers need to register in the State Agricultural Register under the link «USAID AGRO maize seeds Dekalb, 2024».
In total, the US Government and Bayer will provide farmers with 15,756 planting units of maize seeds through the USAID AGRO Program. Distribution is planned for the end of April 2024.
