First Ship from China: Container Ship Arrives in Port of Odessa after the Start of the War

Container Ship Pros Hope Arrives at Port of Odessa

On April 21, for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale war, a real container ship — the Pros Hope from China — arrived at the port of Odessa. This event has become a significant milestone for the volume of container shipments in Ukrainian ports, reports the correspondent of «Dumskaya».

Prior to this, containers with cargo were mainly delivered to the port of Odessa by feeder vessels adapted for cargo transportation. Since the beginning of April, two feeder container ships operated by the Ukrainian company T Mare and T Moon have been operating on the line connecting Chornomorsk with the Turkish port of Yalova and the Romanian port of Constanta.

The container ship Pros Hope, built in 2005 at the Vard Tulcea shipyard in Romania, is 148 meters long and 24 meters wide. The vessel is operated by the German company Interorient Marine Services. Interestingly, the Pros Hope arrived in Odessa from the Chinese port of Zhuhai without stops in other ports, indicating the restoration of a direct container route between China and Ukraine.
