Three Residents of Odessa Face Trial for Trading Weapons and Explosives
Three residents of Odessa are set to go on trial for their involvement in trading weapons and explosives. The accusatory documents point to an Odessa resident and two of his accomplices from a Transcaucasian country, who were reportedly selling pistols and grenades in the city.
The police have stated that the Odessa resident was sourcing these illegal items from the pre-frontline zone. Investigators have evidence showing the sale of a Makarov pistol with 145 rounds for $1300, as well as several fragmentation grenades F-1. In a recent special operation in January, the trio was caught trying to sell three grenades for $450.
They are facing charges under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which deals with illegal trafficking in weapons, ammunition, and explosives. If convicted, they could be sentenced to three to seven years in prison. Currently, the individuals are being held in pre-trial detention.
