Checkpoints in Kyiv
At the end of December 2023, checkpoints were already being set up in Kyiv as part of training exercises. Some Kyiv residents reported on social media that they received summonses during the checkpoint inspections.
On January 1, the commandant of Kyiv region, Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Oleynik, warned about the increase in the number of checkpoints in the capital region. He explained that this is related to ensuring security. There are no plans to issue summonses en masse, although attempts will be made to identify evaders.
On January 4, mobile checkpoints were set up in various districts of Kyiv. However, this was not done to issue summonses, but as part of military exercises.
