39-Year-Old Resident Arrested for Illegal Ammunition Possession
Law enforcement officers in the Zaporizhzhia region have detained a 39-year-old resident of the regional center who illegally stored ammunition. According to the National Police, a search of his residence uncovered a variety of dangerous weapons and explosives.
Among the items found were an F-1 grenade, fragmentation grenades, a detonator mechanism, smoke grenades, and hundreds of cartridges of different calibers. The seized items have been sent for forensic examination.
The suspect has been charged under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for Illegal Handling of Weapons, Ammunition, or Explosives. If convicted, he faces a sentence of 3 to 7 years in prison.
Authorities are currently investigating the reasons behind the illegal possession of ammunition and how the suspect obtained such dangerous materials.
