Albanian Parliament Session Cancelled Due to EURO 2024 Matches

European Football Championship 2024 Affects Albanian Parliament Meeting

Due to the start of the European Football Championship in 2024, the meeting of the Albanian parliament scheduled for June 14 was canceled. A significant number of deputies went to support the national team at the matches, so the session was moved to June 13, and the following one was completely canceled. This information was announced by the AS magazine.

However, this move has been criticized by the opposition. Gazment Bardhi, leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, called on Prime Minister Edi Rama to explain the situation, emphasizing the unacceptability of such actions.

The Albanian national team was drawn into the tournament’s group of death. The team will play their first match on June 15 against Italy, then against Croatia on June 19. On June 24, the Albanian team will face Spain.
