Advisor to the President’s Office Mykhailo Podolyak has reported that there may be hundreds or even thousands of Russian conscripts held in Ukrainian captivity.
«There are quite a lot of them; the number could reach hundreds, or perhaps even thousands,» he stated in an interview with the Russian TV channel «Dozhd.»
Podolyak noted that he is not ready to provide exact numbers as «the situation is unstable and changes every hour.»
«All of them are unprepared for combat and surrender quite quickly. There are very many of them. I cannot yet give the exact number,» the advisor added, commenting on the situation with Russian conscripts.
He also mentioned that there have already been proposals from the Russian side regarding prisoner exchanges.
«I think these processes will not be quick, but I hope they will be successful. We need to bring our people back from Russian captivity, that is obvious,» Podolyak said.
