Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine: Sensitive to Privacy Breaches in Media
Internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine have been found to be more sensitive to privacy breaches in the media, hate speech, and gossip compared to other citizens of the country. These findings are based on the research data of «Media Literacy Index: Ukrainians 66+» and «Media Literacy Index: IDPs», presented by candidate of sociological sciences, associate professor, and senior researcher of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Marta Naumova.
Research Results
According to the research results, internally displaced persons are more likely to react to gossip and slander (64% vs. 60.3% of other Ukrainians), violations of the right to respect for private life (60.5% vs. 55.2%), and hate speech (49% vs. 47.1%).
