Ukrainian Printing Academy merged with Lviv Polytechnic

Important Announcement: Merger of Ukrainian Academy of Printing with Lviv Polytechnic University

Today, on June 28, the Academic Council of Lviv Polytechnic University has approved the merger of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing with the university. As a result of this decision, the Institute of Printing and Media Technologies will be established, incorporating seven specialized departments.

Yaroslav Uhryn, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, has announced that all employees of the academy will either be dismissed or reassigned to other units of Lviv Polytechnic University by August 30. Professors of specialized departments will join the newly formed Institute of Printing, while administrative staff and teachers of general education departments will be integrated into other university units.

Current students enrolled in programs at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing will continue their studies as before. Additionally, new students will be accepted into the announced educational programs starting from the 2024-2025 academic year.

In November 2022, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine proposed merging the Ukrainian Academy of Printing with Ivan Franko Lviv National University, which resulted in protests from students and institution activists.
