Ukraine successfully repels Russian advance near Lyptsy
According to the analytical report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have successfully repelled part of the territory near Lyptsy on the northern approaches to the village.
Also, according to ISW, Russian forces continued to carry out ground attacks near Lyptsy and Ternova. There were no confirmed changes in the front line in the Vovchansk area.
Background on Lyptsy:
Lyptsy is located north of Kharkiv and consists of 17 settlements. Before the war, there were about 13,500 residents living there. The community was occupied in February 2022, and liberated in September of the same year. At the beginning of the Russian advance in the north of the Kharkiv region, the AFU stopped the Russians on the approach to Lyptsy, where Russian forces managed to occupy 6 villages.
According to reports, the following are operating in northern Kharkiv region:
- newly formed 245th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Russian Federation;
- volunteer unit «Special Forces Anwar» (presumably, BARS-25 «Anwar»);
- units of the so-called «African Corps» of the occupiers.
