Municipal authorities in Kharkiv rename metro stations and other toponyms
Municipal authorities in Kharkiv have decided to rename the city metro stations «Pushkinska» and «Yuzhny Vokzal», as well as 367 other toponyms that have a connection to Russia.
According to information published by the Kharkiv City Council on social media, the Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, has signed the relevant decrees.
Thus, the «Pushkinska» station will now be called «Yaroslava Mudroho», and «Yuzhny Vokzal» has been renamed to «Vokzalna».
In addition, other names have been changed: Mendeleev Street is now Educational Street, Osetynska Street is Warsaw Street, Vologodska Alley is English Alley, Vologodska Street is British Street, Dagestanska Alley is Borislavsky Alley, Zhelyabova Alley is Mercy Alley, Novgorodska Street is European Street, Nizhegorodska Street is Writers Street, Novorossiyska Alley is Lanovym Alley, Petrozavodska Street is Estonian Street, and Petrozavodsky Alley is now called Tallinn Alley.
