Doctor-Ophthalmologist Faces Trial for Falsifying Diagnoses for Military Conscription
A doctor-ophthalmologist in Kharkiv, who is the head of a city hospital, will stand trial for falsifying diagnoses for conscripts. This was reported by the prosecutor’s office.
According to the investigation, in May 2023, a 40-year-old man who was supposed to be called up for military service turned to the doctor. At the patient’s request, the doctor provided inaccurate conclusions in the medical documentation about the man’s vision problems that would hinder his military service.
Thus, the head of the department facilitated the evasion of military conscription by forging official documents. At the request of the prosecutor’s office, he was suspended from his position during the investigation.
The criminal faces up to 5 years in prison for assisting in evasion of mobilization.
