Switzerland Joins EU Sanctions Against Russia

Switzerland has joined the 13th package of European Union sanctions against Russia, as announced by the Swiss government’s press service on Friday, March 1.

The country has expanded its sanctions list to include 106 individuals and 88 legal entities. In addition, Switzerland has imposed additional trade sanctions to prevent Russia from acquiring crucial goods and technologies for its armed forces.

As part of the sanctions, Switzerland has prohibited the sale and export of components used in the design and production of drones to Russia. This decision aligns with the 13th package of sanctions aimed at individuals and entities responsible for actions undermining Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.

On February 22, the European Union also adopted the 13th package of sanctions against Russia, targeting a range of individuals and companies involved in activities detrimental to Ukraine. The sanctions include restrictions on governors, officials in occupied Ukrainian territories, representatives of the DPRK, and 10 foreign companies.
