Record Volume of Export Through Ukrainian Maritime Corridor
Ukraine’s export through the maritime corridor in February this year reached a record volume of 8 million tons. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of Ukraine — Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov reported that 5.2 million tons of the total were products of Ukrainian farmers. This achievement marks a significant milestone amidst the ongoing challenges faced by the country.
Since the start of operation of the maritime corridor, export through its routes has reached an impressive 28 million tons. A large portion of this export volume, amounting to 19 million tons, consists of grains and oilseeds. These cargoes were transported to 42 countries, highlighting the vital role of Ukraine in global food security.
Kubrakov emphasized that over 90% of all agricultural exports are processed through the ports of the Great Odessa and the Danube ports. Ukraine continues to be a key player in ensuring food security, particularly in exporting grains to nations in Africa and Asia. These record-breaking export figures are a testament to Ukraine’s resilience and determination to overcome challenges.
