In August of last year, a fraudster took advantage of his acquaintance’s trust and accessed his personal account in the bank’s mobile application. After the victim forgot to log out of his account, the man had access to the other person’s account and illegally transferred 2000 hryvnias to his own bank card. Upon discovering the theft, the victim reported it to the authorities, leading to the arrest of the offender. During the court hearing, the accused admitted his guilt and was sentenced to five years of imprisonment. However, the court decided to exempt him from serving the sentence, providing a one-year probation period with the obligation to compensate for the damage caused.
